About Eric
I didn’t set out to make insurance my life’s work.
I set out to help people — and insurance turned out to be where I could do the most good.
The story
New York Life was the start. Rudolf became home.
After a start in financial services with New York Life, I found my home at Rudolf Insurance Consultants — and I’ve been there ever since.
Twelve-plus years on, I serve as a Senior Executive Consultant, and being independent still lets me do the thing captive agents can’t: put the client first, every time. I compare real options across carriers, explain them in language that actually makes sense, and I never push.

Raising the standard.
Today I also serve as Chief Development Officer at Freedom Retirement Group, helping raise the standard for how this work gets done.
The two roles pull in the same direction: guidance that puts the person across the table first, explained plainly, with no pressure and nothing hidden.
The moments that matter most.
My focus is the moments that shape retirement: turning 65 and facing Medicare for the first time, leaving an employer plan, protecting the people who depend on you, or turning savings into income that lasts. Whatever the question, the approach is the same — unhurried, honest, and on your side.
What you can expect
- Real options, side by side — never just one carrier’s answer.
- Plain language — you’ll understand what you have and why.
- No pressure — take the time you need to decide.
- Someone in your corner long after the paperwork’s signed.
I’m based near Indianola, and I work with people across the Des Moines metro and Iowa.
— Eric
Independent & in your corner
The paperwork ends. The relationship doesn’t — I’m in your corner long after the signatures dry.
